The New Zealand Transport Agency’s Approved Driver Skills Course
Street Talk is a classroom based NZTA Approved Driver Skills Course that sets out to improve your driver skills by raising your risk awareness. There are five sessions in total comprising of four two-hour classroom based sessions followed by an additional one hour in-car session that is in effect a mock full licence test/coaching session. The time for the last session is arranged in conjunction with the student. For the in-car session the student provides the car that he/she would normally be driving.
It is recommended that the student has a restricted licence before enrolling on this course.
On completing the course drivers are presented with a certificate issued by NZTA that can be used to reduce the time spent on a restricted licence by up to six months.
